Rules and Guidelines

RULE o1 - of the salon is don't be nasty and you know that!

There will be no TERFs, MAPs, MRA, DDLG, incels, or anyone that refers to women as "femoids" allowed on this site ʘ꒳ʘ❀.

If you are found practicing hate or just in general nasty shit of any kind (not limited to transphobia, pedophilia, fatphobia, incest, misogyny, or racism) you will be banned. End of story. Don't be a nasty trash example of a shit smear on the side of the road and we'll all get along peachy keen 🍑

RULE o2 - Forum Rating

Dayrise is like, PG-18. I know it doesn't exist. But just bear with me for a second.

The things that generally make a form of media R/M/NC17 are sexual content and violence/gore. These things are not allowed! However, subjects that would make a form of media not PG-13 such as strong language, violence to a reasonable degree, and jokes about boners are allowed! So. PG-18.

Themes: Don't be nasty. This plays a lot into the first rule - don't talk about pedophilia or assault of any kind or any sort of hate speech. 

Violence: Kingdom Hearts is a video game based on smacking people around with a giant key so like, obviously, some amount of violence is totally fine. Getting scars or cuts or large gashes in battle is also a-okay but there's no need to get graphic with the detail, alright? 

Nudity: Uuuuh probably not. Let's just stick to like swimsuits being as far as the nudity thing goes, yeah? Characters can obviously change out of clothes but there's no need to describe bounding tittily down stairs or microwave dick reflections. 

Sensuality and Sex: Flirting and all that good shit is fine! Innuendos are fine but we're not going the full monty on the sexy time stuff. You're absolutely welcome to fade to black or take it to private discord conversations but let's keep it off the site.

Speaking of fading to black though, let's not have underage character participate yeah?? I know teens irl will have consensual fun times amongst each other but listen, when we're all grown ass adults, talking about underage participation - it's just grody alright. The connotation doesn't feel good.

Also don't link to NSFW pics or videos or what have you. Just don't do it :/ 

Language: Yeah go for it. Let's not use slurs or anything but fuck/shit/bitch/damn/dick is all fine. I reserve the right however to decide if it's being overused and curtail that shit. 

Haha dicks: You are absolutely allowed to make dick jokes, or any like lighthearted jokes of sexual nature. Just abide by the first rule of don't be nasty and I won't have to come swinging in with my admin powers like I'm Thor whipping Mjolnir around, got it?

BONUS RULE - Additional Behavior

Don't flame, bash, or mini-mod.

I (emmy) am extremely open to criticism about Dayrise as I want this to evolve with our needs, but like, don't be a dick about it. I'm a person too y'know.

Here's a quick and dirty list of shit that will not fly under any circumstances be it in or out of character!

o1. Pedophilia or excessive and questionable age gaps
o2. Bestiality 
o3. Sexual harassment/assault (yeah this means IC too - keep it out of your backstories there's no need for it. This is Kingdom Hearts guys. C'mon.)
o4. Disrespecting your boardmates limits. We're going to have a limit system here and if you're shitty about it you can just pack up and leave now.
o5. Racism / Sexism / Antisemitism / any of those really awful -isms! Hate is not allowed here.
o6. Theft of any kind, art theft, prose theft, OC theft - like no. Get out of my house.

RULE o1 THRU 12 - General Rules

o1. No godmodding/powerplaying/player-killing/whatever! It costs $0 to stay in your own lane and your own characters.
o2. No one-liners please! I'm not going to be any kind of word count dictator, especially not if you and someone are doing a 1x1 thread (then I mean, go ahead and do whatever you like) but let's try and keep the minimum word count like 150? Please? Just one paragraph is fine, especially since faster paced dialogue stuff can be really fun!
o3. No cybering guys, let's just stick with fade to black in the public forums. What you do in discord is none of my business.
o4. Also like - don't pressure anyone to write cyber with you off site :/ That's gross and I will ban you i-fucking-mmediately. 
o5. Abide by limits! I'll make a big paragraph explaining this in a hot second don't sweat it.
o6. Tentative character limit is three, one canon max and two OCs (three max if you don't want a canon). If you want more past that, just ask? I don't really foresee this being a problem so just talk to me (emmy).
o7. Don't argue with staff :\ It's not cute.
o8. Major unclaimed canons that are needed for a thread's plot can be requested. In most cases, emmy will play as unclaimed canons; especially if they're Big Ones. However, temporary NPCs can be granted if staff trusts the members making the request. 
o9. Minor NPCs such as Moogles, Heuy, Dey, Leuy, Scrooge McDuck, random and unnamed citizens of Twilight or Traverse Town etcetc can be used without requesting permission. Otherwise shop transactions and other minor interactions would be an absolute slog and that's fun for no one. 
10. Honestly ? ?? As of these rules being written, it's just one very tired and anxious person. If you feel I've missed anything absolutely just shout it out and I'll slap it on.
11. Novel/Third person format please!
12. Both Past and Present tense are allowed! 

RULE 13 - Canons

Alright so! Canons are absolutely a thing you can play. As it stands, Dayrise is going to be a one person plays one canon and that's it kind of place. I know there's an official name for this, but I don't remember what it is. This is subject to change though? I'm considering letting people play mult versions of a canon on a split au kind of basis. But I haven't decided!

For now though - if a canon is taken, that's it. You can't touch them unless you're the one that applied for them. 

RULE 13A - Familial Canon Relationships

Eeeeehh I don't know. I've seen this abused a lot but I've also seen it go fine. And I'm talking the whole like "Cloud Strife's long lost brother!!" kind of stuff. This will be a case by case basis - it's not outright outlawed but know that I'm going to be pretty picky about this. Ask emmy, talk to her, and we'll see. Okay?

RULE 13B - Romantic Canon Relationships

Canon x Canon, Canon x OC - whatever! Live your dreams! As long as the person who plays the canon is down with it then like, live your best life. Chase that bliss. 

Those who wish to apply for canons: No you don't have to retain ""established"" relationships (like Sora x Kairi) if you don't want. 

RULE 14 - Limits

Told ya I'd explain this! Basically what's going on is I don't think it's cool that the individual has to sacrifice their comfort for a group setting. So, I'm heavily experimenting with trying to figure out how we can make this work. 

What I'm thinking is I'd like everyone to give a list of their limits when they join the site. I'll expand in more detail about how in the intro section, don't sweat it. This way everyone already knows out the gate that y'know, it's cool and chill and it won't be an issue. Also so we know what they are! And I'll be able to keep track of everyone's limits and if one of them shows up like a super lot, I might even add it to the rules. Limits will also go in a thread that each member is going to make that links their OOC account with each of their characters so everyone knows who is who. 

I'm also considering that the OP of a thread could post their limits at the top of the thread? So anyone who wants to jump in knows what not to talk about! And people joining can post their limits in their first post to the thread and the OP or a staff member can add it to the top of the thread so future participants know what's up. 

I don't think I'm explaining this great? Or very concise ?? But I haven't put it to practice yet so this is all still very much in the "in theory" part of development! As we go and the site develops, I'm sure we'll figure how this all shakes out ;; w ;;

When you join Dayrise I'd love for you to join with what you intend to be an OOC account. Then, I'd like for you to post a new thread in the introductions section using [this template] I've devised.

Please post character applications as part of you OOC account. once accepted, then you can make an additional account for that character's IC posts!

I'd like for characters (both canon and oc) to have their own account. So if you have three characters, then four accounts! One for OOC, and the other three for the IC posts. This kind of makes it easier to keep track of things, it's a sort of built in post format, and it helps things out a lot if it gets to a point that I'd like to implement a money/inventory/hp/mp system! 

Once you've made an IC account, please make a thread with [this template] simply linking you to your character, as well as listing your personal limits/squicks!
